Hello fellow PC enthusiasts! Very recently I (very nearly) finished my first full build, only to find that my radiator interfered with my motherboard. Everything is running smoothly, but currently I'm running my computer with the radiator sitting outside of the case with the side panel off, rather than mounted inside of it. The water cooler I'm using for my cpu, is the Kraken x62 280mm liquid cooler. This issue seems as though it'd be easy to solve if I had radiator fans half the height of the ones that came stock with the cooler. The only problem with that is I'd like to find fans simmiliar to the ones that came included with my case, so that I can maintain the look, and also use the same fan hub/controller. I'm using the corsair Crystal 570X, and I believe this case comes with sp120 rgb fans. Anyone have any suggestions or helpful links to share, so that I might find a pair of new fans for my radiator, and I can finally put the side panel back on my PC?

Well officially 280mm radiators aren't supported in the top of this case, so no surprise for the interference. However, a picture would be useful :)

I don't think there are fans that are that thin, but I could be wrong.

There are slim fans but the cooling performance will suffer.

I would just try to mount the fans outside on top of the case in pull configuration and leave the radiator inside.

Already tried mounting them on top of the case. There isn't enough room once mounted to put the top glass panel back onto the case. Even if this had worked, I'd have to sacrifice the top dust filter (as well as the sleek aesthetic of the case). I'm afraid thinner fans may be the only solution here that doesn't involve me sending back my cooler. I'm willing to sacrifice a little cooling performance in order to just be able to run my pc with the side panel back on. I want this build to be clean and finished.

I did enough research beforehand to know I'd be able to mount a 180mm radiator in this case. I just did not anticipate for the motherboard to fill in the space near the top of the case as much as it does.

what if you mount it in the front part?

In all honesty, I could. but I'd much rather leave the stock fans in the front for intake. That'd also leave the computer looking a tad odd unless I just decide to just leave the fan leds off, or just go with a pair of the sp120s that come with the case. First and foremost I'd like to try and find slim fans to mount on the top of the case. If that doesn't end up being a solution then I may try mounting the radiator in the front of the case instead. Although i'd have to rethink the airflow through the case.

Plenty of slim fans (15mm) out there in the wild. should be able to find SOMETHING.

I don't know what CPU are you using but mine went from 70C under load with rad mounted on top to 55C with rad mounted on front, my case doesn't has a window so idk how a config like mine would look on a case like the 570X xD

Yeah the motherboard is pretty high up (I have a few mm clearance left maybe with my rad as well), but I think that is the reason 280 is not listed as supported. Sure the mounting holes are there and work, but the motherboard will interfere this high up.

Seems I was mistaken as there are plenty of  slim fans out there apparently. Scythe Slipstreams perhaps? 12mm thickness. I have their Gentle Typhoons and they are really quiet as well.
