What are you using it for?

The 212 is bad. As in it performs poorly, and is bigger and more difficult to mount than cheaper coolers. Just get an H7 or H5, or use the stock cooler.

The Pro4 is crap. Don't pay extra for it over other boards.

There should be cheaper memory kits at the same speed.

Depending on what you use the PC for, an NVMe drive might be a complete waste of money.

Same goes for the HDD.

Way overkill PSU. 400W is plenty.

Why such an expensive Wi-Fi adapter? Powerline or ethernet would be better solutions.

What are you doing with a $200 monitor in a $2000 build?

Why such an overpriced 1070? That's about twice as much as it should cost.

:)

I think you can save some money buying an i5 8600(k) instead if you are only going to game and the PSU is kind of low wattage, it will do but if you want to upgrade down the road then you might have to buy a new PSU anyways. If you are going to use it for productivity then it might make more sense to get 2x 8GB ram sticks instead to allow you to upgrade down the road.

Now if you'd answer the helpful part of my post about what the PC is going to be used for, that'd be nice. And allow us to actually give you an input on it :P

Unless you are in urgent need I would wait for the Meltdown bug to be worked out in the next generation of Intel CPUs.  Intel is already claiming a "Up to 10% slowdown". for 6th gen +.

the gaming performance hit is pretty low, check this thread we just discussed about it at:

if you're interested ;)

  • Get a 8700K if you're going with that Z370M board
  • For 16GB get 2x8GB kits not a pair of 2x4GB kits
  • Get a bigger size SSD and reduce the size of your HDD
  • Get a bigger wattage psu, and 80 Plus Gold is good too
  • If you want wifi then look for boards that come with them. They're sometimes cheaper than getting them separately
  • Your missing a OS
  • Might want to get a cheap card or use onboard for now and get the gpu once price drops from the Etherium mining.
