lmao. Even Linus doesn't know what's going on. xD.

My first thoughts were that this might be some micro-transactions thingy or something or other. But I sincerely hope not.

OP, could you post a link to the vid (assuming it's on YT)? If not, then could you summarize the main points discussed in it?

Thanks.

microtransactions are here, time to embrace it, 1 FPC (Float Plane Coin) = 1 1080p video

1 FPC = $2.99

<Joke>

But Bruh, you need to buy a Float Plane Crate which gives you a random amount of Coins (1-5) for 2.99 and then you use 1 Floatplane Coin per video.

@Slick Care to comment on this since there's quite a bit of confusion?

I meant it's the first I'm hearing of it in the sense that we aren't working on something like this right now haha.

Not that Luke and Paul have gone rogue and I'm just hearing about it

Oh. Right. No Floatplane Coin coming anytime soon. Got it.

Btw, you may want to take a look at a thread in General Discussions that somebody posted about the amount of ADs in your YouTube Uploads.

Use Adblock and it’s zero. Anyone who charges for early uploads doesn’t need ad money. Being greedy can backfire

Floatplane Uploads don't contain ADs and lets people support LMG directly. I *mostly* like LMG content minus the ADs (yes, the thumbnails have a tendency of being really silly) and thus I pay for LMG Floatplane.

I know floatplane doesn’t have ads

and it’s not creators faults that catchy thumbnails get people to click. I don’t blame them for that if anything it’s youTubes in how they made the platform function money wise.

You can't really blame them for ads, they've got like 15+ employees. Didn't mind ads before i joined Floatplane as it supports my favorite creator, just how it works.

Seems pretty wierd Linus not having heard of crypto currency with a 1,2 billion dollar market cap being developed within a company that he is the CEO of.

Or has Luke just got too much free time?
