Will a 2004 HDD work in a brand new 2013 Build?

I want to use a HDD (320GB) from my old Dimension 8400 but I'm unsure if it'll have the correct connectors.

I don't think so. It looks like it uses ide instead of sata.

Most likely IDE so no unless there is some SATA adapter I don't know of.

SATA came out in 2003, so you might have a SATA connector.

I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to HDD Cabling but from the cnet page, it says it uses "Serial ATA-150 Serial ATA"

2nd one, just looking at it reminds me of the horrors of trying to swap out something with that massive thing blocking the way.

You can use a pata to sata adapter, but I would just buy a new drive all together since it's basically 10 years old.

Ya, I'll probably just pickup a 500GB HDD from Western Digital.

Do you have a lot of games? Might want to consider a 1TB drive.

There's no point in getting anything less then 3tb since it's only 100$ and 50 is nearly 70. 1 is like 80. 2 is up to 90.

HDDs are dirt cheap these days, especially this time of year, I would just get a new one.

If you are willing to stuck IDE cable inside your case and your mobo has IDE conenctor then there isn't much hassle. But yeah, getting new drive makes it much more easier.
