AMD a8 6600K now running much slower 20-30fps lower in games

hi guys so i turned my pc on today and it was fine then i played for a bit and switched it off came back 30mins later and now im getting 20-30 fps lower in all games in gta 5 i was getting 40-60 and now i get 25-30 on csgo i did the benchmark and i got an average of 84.9 and before i got 112.2, now after running the cinecbench cpu test i get 240 whiles before i was getting 275 please help me thanks.

CPU: AMD A8 6600K @4.2GHZ With Turbo To 4.5GHZ

mobo: Gigabyte ga-f2a68hm-hd2

ram: 1x8gb of Balistix ddr3 @2400mhz

gpu: GTX 750TI

psu: Win Power 500w

What is your GPU usage and clock speeds while this is happening? Do they look abnormal? I have had situations like this and it was a driver issue where I had to clean reinstall the driver.

Only way to find out is to uninstall that update and try again. Update number is KB4056892 if your running Win10 build 1709, which is the fall creators update.

i have done a clean reinstall of drivers before but i will try it again for the gpu clocks i have oc the core by 131 and memory by 382 i ran heaven benchmark for 30mins and its stable

Do a system restore to like yesterday or which ever date is the latest before this problem happened.

If Microsoft has patched the meltdown bug and didn't put any kind of hardware ID flag as to which CPU to activate it on then its possible you could be seeing the performance dip from a patch to protect against it, here is a link to an article with power shell commands to check if the patch is active.
