Really wierd cooling results

MaorRX

I have an ASUS Z370-e gaiming moterboard, an intel core i7 8700k, and a hyper 212 evo. Based on advice i got from videos online, it says that if you dont have really good cooling, then turn of MCE/multi core encanchment  in your bios. When i run aida64 and stress the CPU,FPU,CACHE.I got hotter temps when MCE is disabled then when it is enabled. When i enabled MCE mode cpu was running 75 degress average on all cores, and when it was disabled i even hit 80?

Really wierd???????????

By disabling MCE you disable Asus turbo on cores, and Intel turbo is used instead - I am not sure how they differ but both ways the cores are still turboing.

Those temperatures seem normal considering Intel's TIM and your cooling solution.

You could just downvolt. No need to change cooler unless you want to aim for high OC. Those temps are fine for stress testing.

I would need to research what it does. I'm running 4 gen older CPU where it isn't a thing.
