new to motherboards mine is a px79 from like 2009 and i am upgrading just cant decide thanks.

Both are different chipsets. Did you decide on a processor yet? Processors have to be compatible with motherboard chipsets.

Then the H270 board won't work, you will need the Z370 one. Don't use the H variety, it has a sucky VRM.

ASUS PRIME Z370-A, or MSI Z370-A PRO. STRIX Z370-E also works, same with Z370 EXTREME4
