It should say. Long story short, use the Intel bracket, put it on/over the CPU block, and attach it to the motherboard using the included screws. Seriously, it should be in the manual.

I don' know specifically for the CM. but sometimes these back plates are meant to be loose and tighten down when the block is screwed onto it this was the case with the corsair h100i v2

 If the CM is also an Asetek design, perhaps it' a similar story.
