ADOBE CREATIVE - RYZEN OR INTEL?

Looking to start a new build for the adobe suite. I know there might be a debate here but i did want to get some input into what would be the best cpu for these types of tasks. Budget range from 1000-1500. Thank you in advance.

depends on what program you will be using the most. Premier is heavy on CPU core. Photoshop/lightroom ... not so much.

I suggest you go with an i7-8700K, I heard it's very good in terms of editing

Agreed. And if you do want to game, the 8700k has good performance when overclocked

what about all this intel bs going on tho? seems like intel is the fav regardless.

yup. a 7700k would be a good budget choice. 8700k would be a good choice as well if you wanted to stay more up to date.

exactly why i think intel would be questionable at the moment with it being a hardware issue. correct?

don't worry about it. it's a ton of Chicken Little that doesn't affect 99% of consumer users.

Well, any cpu you get will be affected by the vulnerabilities. And besides, the patch won't affect newer Intel cpu's.

actually it was just discovered that the newer branch predictors were skipping the fix, so a more expensive fix is needed.

and amd is only afected by one of the 3 vulnerabilities, and the 1 one is more dangerous

fyi new ryzen cpus are coming early march, with higher clocks, might be worth to see what they bring to the table

yeah thats what i was also thinking as well, becuase if its about singlecore i can get a ryzen 3 and overclock it, unless ryzen doesnt play nice with adobe.

The new Ryzen processors will not be 5GHz, i can tell you that much.
