AMD Gaming PC - Rebuild

I had a long in the tooth AMD A8 PC and decided to rebuild this year. I kept the 600w Power supply, Corsair Carbide 88R SSD and DVD Drive.

 

Old parts

Gigabyte GA-F2A88XMD-D3H motherbord

 Raijintek Aidos CPU Cooler

A8 6600K

32GB DDR3 1600MHZ Ram

Asus GTX 750ti

 

New Parts

ASUS B350 Gaming Pro

Ryzen Wraith Cooler

R7 1700

16GB DDR4 2400MHZ Ram

EVGA GTX 960 

 

 

PC runs great and I am super glad I did it!

The only think I would have done is swapped the GTX 960 for something like a R9 380(That was and is still the better card between those two) or better and lowered the CPU from the 1700.

GTX 960 was an odd pick for an upgrade but hey, it is better so why bother hehe, really nice looking too ^^

You should be able to use that cooler on your AMD motherboard by contacting raijintek support and asking for an AM4 bracket. They might charge you for it, you can decide whether it's worth buying

To save costs I did get the ram/GPU used. I would have loved to get better cards but I did recently make a sleeper PC as well so I had to budget a bit.

If you're just gaming, you should have for sure saved on the Ryzen 1700, instead grabbed a 1600 and that should have allowed you a better gaming experience with a GTX 1060 which is around twice as fast for the 6GB model at 1080p.

Impressive! I'm planning on getting a Ryzen 5 1400 or 1600(depending on whether or not I can stretch for a 1600) to upgrade from my A6-5400K.
