Best Free OS Migration Software

I recently bought a 512gb SSD for my mother's workstation system because her current OS drive is only 125gb and is almost full.

 

I have done disk cloning and OS migration many times in the past but I haven't found a software that I super pleased with.

 

Please let me know what your recommended os migration software is.

I've used Macrium Disk Reflect before and it was pretty good

I've had great success using

dd

in the past. It requires that you be able to run Linux on a computer with both disks connected though. It's also very easy to shoot yourself in the foot.

Do a clean install properly so that you don't have a ton of OS issues a few months later

If it was my own system thats what I would do but this my mother system that she uses to run her business and she has everything configured very specifically for her use case and it would take me ages to set it all back up

Well when a windows update tries to install and corrupts the OS because it was cloned, then you'll be forced to clean install.

So is it easier to clean install now when you still have everything working or when the PC won't boot?
