i just not sure if im right so im gona ask people here to help me out. i know that the higher the resolution in games will result in a lower demand for the cpu. but what if you sli? so lets say the Intel 8700k with 2x 1080ti will this still be a better option then a AMD 1920x with 2x 1080ti both running at 1440p or 4k.

Higher resolution takes more CPU and GPU power to push. If SLI wasn't buggy as heck currently, you would see a benefit. An AMD 1920X would be better at some tasks than an i7-8700K.

yes but is there is a increase in cpu demands but not as much compared to the gpu. like the ratio is leaning more towards the gpu side.

ps do you think its worth 1080ti sli if i already have a 1080ti

Don't SLI. It's really buggy and is currently having a ton of issues. Last I checked, there is quite a bit of GPU power required to run higher resolutions, the 1060 6Gb can push 1440p at fairly decent framerates, with a 4c/4t CPU, there wouldn't be too much of a different with a 6c/6t or 12t CPU. The GPU takes more of the workload at higher resolutions.

but the thing is the only way to push more frame is sli since there is no better card on the market unless i wait for the next generation

anyway which one do you recommenced IF sli the 8700k or the 1920x

SLI is not a free lunch. The drivers have to have a game profile for it in order for the game to take advantage of SLI. Otherwise it may not work as well, not work at all, or perform worse.

But what requirements are you demanding that a single GTX 1080 Ti won't suffice? UHD 120FPS?

4k more than 60fps if possible or 1440p at 165fps thats my "aim" but i know that sli is not well optimised but the only option as i said is to wait for new release or go multi gpu. i know its a waste of money but its like having a fancy car not the best practical thing but you look dope.

since i already have one 1080ti the gpu is not the main thing concerning me its the cpu im running a 6500 and its kinda limiting on what i can do also kinda slow on doing more cpu intensive things. what im thinking is the 8700k or the 1920x. maybe i9 but i think i9 is stupid

Threadripper isn't any better than an i9. It has more value, but for gaming purposes it has worse value than an i7-8700K. Unless somehow magically a game needs 32 threads and can cope with the latency between modules.

If high frame rate is what you want, then a processor with better IPC clocked as fast as possible will usually get you there provided you meet is thread count first.

I can’t use both of my cards because my cpu is junk. But my frames are bad. If I wanted 4K I would have to make two cards work even though my game scales quite well for sli. I’d just stick with 1440 and enjoy that until everything else catches up.
