Need help with a PC build - Story included

Full Story: If there is any mistakes or posted wrong board to ask for help, please PM/DM me so I can remove it and move it. Sorry about it. Short Story is at the bottom.

So about two years ago, I was interested on building my own computer and had no idea on what to select (Still don't know till this day). I wanted a computer that can both record, render and play in 1080p with no delay and footage issues using OBS Studio and Vegas. I went on toms hardware and was recommended to build a particular set. In the thread I asked for recording, rendering, and able to play in 1080p with these types of games; Command and Conquer Series, Doom (Zandronum), Age of Empires II, Sim City Series and other games that I had listed. Needless to say, my video recording software OBS Studio showed up in choppy, blocked render in 1080p and the video recording size would be around 100gb for about 3 hours which is a lot. Here is a few examples of what the video looks like after rendering it on Vegas. Its going to be videos cut to the blocky parts and cropped into one entire video. Link: https://youtu.be/4MVlWj4avcI - The game is Megaman8bitDM. I do not remember my old build that much but this is my attempt to show my original build.

Specs: Was worth around $700 dollars but missing some hardware.

CPU - AMD FX (TM) 6300 Six Core Processor

GPU - AMD Radeon R9 200 Seires

Motherboard - GA-78LMT-USB3

16 GB of Ram

Using Windows 10

Previously I asked on linustechtips forums if my GPU is too weak to record in 1080p and got a few mixed answers. With some saying that my hardware for the GPU and CPU is too old and weak to record in 1080p, and others saying that to use Re Live instead. I tried to use Re Live, but I prefer to use OBS Studio.

So I had an idea on building another computer for recording the older computer screen. I had many suggestions on not to do this since it would be too complex and/or difficult to pull off. There was one idea on using Remote control over lan, but I can try this later. This idea was quickly shut downed. But I have the thread to this one as well.

So this is what I want to do, build another computer for the only purpose of recording games in full 1080p in 60 fps. After the recording is finish, transfer the files to my older computer and using this as a rendering only computer for Sony Vegas. I had an idea on using either a Ethernet port on connecting both computers together or using a external hard drive to connect both but I do not know how would this work out. The games I want to record is still the same from the start - Command and Conquer Series, Doom (Zandronum), Age of Empires II, Sim City Series, Warhammer 40k Soul Storm, Warcraft III, and many other games. Many of these games are either recent or old. I do not need another keyboard/mouse, since im planning to find out on connect one keyboard/mouse to multiple computers or two for this case. Although I do need a Monitor that has 1080p. I do have a iMac mid 2010 computer, but I want to sell it because there is a issue with the hard drive and I only use it for video watching. My budget is about $800 dollars, but I can get more if this is not enough for a new build. I also want to try to get a Mac OS to run on my second build, but I dont think that this is needed, since my games only run in windows.

This is the setup I was recommended, but I want to see if there is a better one, because it can only record in 1080p with overclocking

Short Story:

I have a outdated computer build that has bad recording/rendering quality. When recording in 1080p the video comes out like this - https://youtu.be/4MVlWj4avcI . I was told that it would be good to record and play in 1080p but it turns out it was not. The game I play/record is Command and Conquer Series, Doom (Zandronum), Age of Empires II, Sim City Series and other games. My specs for my old build can be found on the full story in its own section.

I ask the community if my hardware should be updated, but someone suggested to just build a whole other computer. I agreed, but had another idea on using one computer to record another computer until this was quickly debunked. So this is my current plan, use one computer to record and the other to render it. I also need help with how to connect two computers together. The last build is the one I got recommended, but I want a upgrade since I need to overclock everything to use it.

If you have any question to help, please do no hesitate to ask.

I forgot to include that I would like to stream and record as well. Sorry for the missing information.

If you want to stream and record, look into a Ryzen 5 or 7. And maybe go up to a 1070 if you want to play at anything higher than 1080p with good performance. If you're fine recording in 1080p, definitely go with a 1060 although look for the 6Gb version.

800$ isn't a great budget for what you want to do. I mean, you can spend your entire budget on the video card alone. I would save more money myself, and then:

Scrap the AMD, go Intel. Get 16gb of ram, add an SSD and half decent cooler. And 6gb like crunchy mentioned.

You never want to put an OS on a WD blue.

So what about this build?

Your build still has AMD. For a little more, I would go for an 8700k and this is a reasonable price for a 8th gen mobo https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813119033&cm_re=lga_1151-_-13-119-033-_-Product

I'm not a huge fan of ballistix. I personally have Corsair, but G-skill is pretty damn good too and it's a cheaper price point. Since you'll be using a 8th Gen mobo, you can increase the speed (3000MHZ+) https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233863&cm_re=2x8gb_ddr44-_-20-233-863-_-Product is a good starting point.

Yes, you'll end up spending a little more up front. But my philosophy and first build was $2000 and it lasted me almost 8 years. This versus spending $1000 now and another $1000 in a few years when you start falling behind the curve again and continuously upgrading.

I still managed to salvage some stuff when I upgraded from 1st gen to 4th gen about 3 years ago. I haven't had a single bad day with my pc, and I plan on using it for at least another 2-3 years. Heck, I'd still be rocking my i7 960 if my 1366 mobo didn't crap out and cost almost as much as a new gen board to replace xD

So your recommendation is too wait until I have about 2,000 and use it to build a super computer. So far I only reached $1,500 with this setup https://pcpartpicker.com/list/MsTr9W If there is any changes i need to do, please pm/dm me. I would like to spend as much now to avoid wasting more later on, like you said.

I'll check back tomorrow, since it getting way too late.
