I've decided I can't stand a budget fixed cable PSU anymore and I need to upgrade. I'm thinking modular and hoping for fully modular. My budget is approx. £70. I'd obviously prefer lower.

I've looked at the Corsair RM550x and it could come down in the boxing day sales - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-RM550x-Modular-Power-Supply/dp/B015PWMRI0/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1514239059&sr=1-1&keywords=rm550

If I can't get fully modular I'm planning to get a Cooler Master G550M from PC World with a 10% staff discount - https://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/computing-accessories/components-and-upgrades/power-supplies/coolermaster-g550m-modular-atx-psu-550-w-10118701-pdt.html

Any other suggestions or recommendations are welcome.

Supernova G3 is what instantly springs to my mind

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

#2. It's best to keep your mouth shut; and appear to be stupid, rather than open it and remove all doubt.

#3. There is nothing "wrong" with being wrong. Learning from a mistake can be more valuable than not making one in the first place.

The Focus Plus Gold is an option. The RMx will be quieter, though. The RMx looks like the best option within roughly that price range.

Thanks for the suggestions but I've had another look and tbh I don't really wanna spend that much so I've decided to look at Semi-Modulars and I can get some extensions later. I'm now looking to spend no more than £52 cause that's what I can get the Cooler Master one for. Is anything significantly better at that price?

The CX450M and Pure Power 10 CM 400W would be better, afaik.

:)
