What should I look for when buying a used pc?

I am trying to buy a used computer from craigslist and I am going to see it in person. What should I look for other than checking task manager?

Look for damage to the case and stuff like that.

msinfo32.exe - will show you all the hardware, to make sure it's got what they say it does.

 

Check fans, check temperatures, look for cleanliness.  If it looks like it's been rolled down a hill, probably better to move on.

1. Physical damage

 

2. Stain. Water marks, dust etc.

 

3. HWinfo. Make sure it's using what the buyer said it has.

 

4. Aida64 stress test. In the stress test menu, stress everything but the disks.

 

5. Meanwhile, listen if there are weird noises.
