There will likely be new motherboards to accommodate the new CPUs, featuring the X470 and B450 chipsets.

The CPUs will still use the AM4 socket so X370 and B350 boards should still work with Ryzen 2.

Judge a product on its own merits AND the company that made it.

From a marketing stand point I see no reason why AMD would go out of their way to support the new processors on old AM4 boards. I do not think the majority of people that invested in Rysen are the type of people that update their processors often. Rysen 3 and 5 users are often on a tight budget and want a cost effective alternative to intel's offerings, and therefore are not likely to drop another 300$ or so on a processor upgrade any time soon. Rysen 7 users are probably going to be similarly hessitant to run out and replace their 500$ processors after just a year or so.  Keep in mind that a lot of AMD users used FX processors for years before finally updating to rysen, so they are not accustomed to updating often.
