ehh, that usb-a port is not going to be able to provide enough power I think, the cable should be no problem though

Hi,

I wanted to know if I can charge the new 2016 dongle book pro I mean MacBook Pro with just a normal usb-c charging cable plugged into a usb port, a one that is usb-c male on one end and usb-a male on the other.

Oh. BTW this is not for my mac, a friend asked me this.

Thanks

Suuuuure it's not your mac :P

But yes, you should be fine doing that. As @DatTestBench said, it may not provide enough power for fast charging though.

I am whatever I am.
