GTX 1060 6GB vs RX 580 8GB for PUBG streaming?

jpnmusic2

Hey yall. Been thinking of starting to stream PUBG on Twitch and I'm wondering which GPU is the best considering I'll be streaming. Budget (due to having to buy 16GB ram) is limited to ~300-350$, what both cost in Canada. I currently have an HD 7970 so it's really outdated. Here's my specs so far (minus ram since I didn't buy them yet). I can't spend more than ~500$ for GPU + Ram so yeah.

CPU: Intel QHQG (ES i7-6700) @ 3.8GHz (estimate)

Mobo: Asus Z170-A

HDD: WD10EZEX might buy SSD though

PSU: Corsair CX450M (2015)

Thanks :^)

Main PC: Intel i7-860 and Asus P7P55D-E LX (both for 15$) | Mismatched 7GB | WD10EZEX | ZOTAC GTX 1060 3GB | Antec EA500 (20$)

The 1060 6GB does better in this title. Although its a horribly optimized game.

Benchmarks show the 1060 6GB consistently ahead of the RX 580 8GB.

the first part yeah

second part no, they consistently trade blows and its worth if you play any other games to look into the differences in those

GTX 1060 6gb because it does better on the majority of titles, pretty much any thing DX11 or Vulkan, only a few DX12 normally AMD sponsored titles like Hitman you'll see the RX580 take the lead.

Reckon it's enough to stream PUBG? I've seen most streamers using GTX 1070 or GTX 1080 but I obviously don't have that budget so yeah. I will be playing at 1080p with very minimal background application running (perhaps Chrome with 2-3 tabs opened). My main purpose other than playing smoothly is to stream @ 720p60 so yeah.

Streaming is CPU bound not GPU bound, you just need a GPU that will run the game decently, if you use QuickSync to put the i7 6700 iGPU to work then you can stream at 720p60fps with a few dips here and there.

oh f u c k. so I guess a GTX 1060 6GB is the card to get then? Like the cheapest full size one.
