Hi everyone. I've been wondering when it'll be time to upgrade my PC, and with the holiday discounts coming around (I think) I was thinking about upgrading my CPU and my GPU. I'm thinking about upgrading to a i5-7600k, but I don't know what GPU would go well with it. Is it worth upgrading my current parts? Thanks!

Given that you already have a Z170 board, I would recommend getting a 6700K and maybe a 1050Ti or 1060

The 7600K is not really an upgrade, if you need a better CPU, get a used 6700(K) or 7700(K). But TBH, your CPU is fine for now if you are simply gaming, just upgrade your GPU to a 1060/580/used 980 Ti.

CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K | Motherboard: AsRock X99 Extreme4 | Graphics Card: Gigabyte GTX 1080 G1 Gaming | RAM: 16GB G.Skill Ripjaws4 2133MHz | Storage: 1 x Samsung 860 EVO 1TB | 1 x WD Green 2TB | 1 x WD Blue 500GB | PSU: Corsair RM750x | Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro (White) | Cooling: Arctic Freezer i32

Mice: Logitech G Pro X Superlight (main), Logitech G Pro Wireless, Razer Viper Ultimate, Zowie S1 Divina Blue, Zowie FK1-B Divina Blue, Logitech G Pro (3366 sensor), Glorious Model O, Razer Viper Mini, Logitech G305, Logitech G502, Logitech G402

I don't have too much money to spend, so I was wondering if the 7600k would be a worthwhile investment then pair it with a card that has just enough power so that I'm not bottlenecking anything. Would a 7600k and a 1060 work well?

They would work well, but as @PCGuy_5960 said, the 7600K isn't much of an upgrade from the 6500

Depending on what games you play, but it probably would be overkill or close to.

No, I wouldn't suggest getting the 7600k. It's not much of an upgrade as others have said. I'd look for a 6700/k, they should be rather affordable and will offer actual improvements. The graphics card is where you'll see the most improvements.

If you need to sell your CPU to someone....;)

Don't get the 7600k. Waste of money, and honestly I hope you're not buying new.

"I don't have too much money to spend" isn't helpful. Give us dollar values.

No, it wouldn't be a waste. You'll still see improvements. The G4560 is barely bottlenecked by the 1070.

WTF is everyone  on about? Even a 6600k would be a massive improvement of his locked 3.6Ghz CPU. You would easily get a 1Ghz bump, a 28% improvement w/ overclock. Push that thing to near 5ghz with decent cooler, a 39% improvement, and you're looking at a world of difference.
