PC Fps is extremely bad

So I upgraded my PC recently. I put in a GTX 1070 Strix 8gb, a PSU with 650w and a ssd 500gb. I thought it was gonna be great because it costed about 710$ for the whole upgrade. I started playing some games and got a bit disappointed.

I ran PUBG at 45-60fps, Assassin's creed at 32fps, Arma 3 at 26-40 fps sometimes. These stats arent pretty good and at sometimes I don't even have any FPS difference in fps if I pull down the graphics. Is it my CPU that cant handle it all? Im a bit disappointed with spending so much money and getting this poor performance. 

 

Specs: 

OS: Windows 10

CPU: I5 6400(2.7 ghz version)

GPU: Gtx 1070

PSU: 650 W

(Tell me if you need anymore information)

 

Anyone know why I have this bad performance?

Yeah that isn't right what are your temps while running the benchmarks ?

lelz, my 770 gets 32fps average at 720p for origins (lowest settings)

 

With that completely irrelevant info given I shall be off on my merry way

I can check later, My CPU is maxed out while my GPU is at 70%. But havent checked the temps

DDU in safe mode and reinstall GPU drivers?

Thermals?

All three are massively cpu bound, combine that with the fact you have 8gb of ram i'm not surprised. Try one of the unigine benchmarks and post the results

What resolution, GPU and CPU usage/temperatures and install the drivers with DDU?

It doesnt matter if I switch down to Low, because the fps stays the same lol

Sounds cpu bound, your GPU is clearly outpacing the CPU's ability to deliver frames to be rendered.  Put the resolution scale to 200% and max out the settings

I play on Ultra or very high. I don't get any FPS differenences if I turn it down to low. I have tried it sometimes. I have no idea what DDU stands for. (sorry kind of new to this..) I reinstalled the drivers this friday and it didnt make any difference. I did it with Geforce experience though.

I'm on my way to post the benchmark results. I just have to download the programs. I recently reinstalled windows and then installed the drivers to be sure

So now I finished benchmarking Heaven and valley. Here are my results. I didnt get a screen while benchmarking valley with all the temps. But i think the heaven will do the job.

Another weird thing when I wanted to reinstall windows and install the new drivers I got a problem installing my drivers from the CD. I wanted to try it out. It crashed when I was going to install them. So I installed them from nvidias site.

Yeah do not use the cd. Get them strait from Nvidia so you use the most up to date drivers. Also, what graphics settings are you playing at? Ultra? Medium? Low?

I used a tool they had to check that they were up to date

 

And I'm running it at Ultra

But why is the fps so low? People with 1070 seem to get like 110 fps...

UPDATE: Assassin's creed has all cores at 100% while the GPU is like 59% Bottleneck? haha

I guess you were right.. Which CPU should be able to run the GPU good? Like pretty good so I don't bottleneck a lot?

Do you have any other game that is not CPU bound?
