Hey guys I have another odd question here. I recently downloaded a windows application on my secondary drive and I tried moving the files place after downloading them and found out that they don't work unless I'm the original instal directory so I tried moving everything back to them find out I needed permission from Trusted installer to move it back. I've followed guides online to change owners but after I make myself owner It still says I need permission. This is driving me crazy, I can't even restore my PC because of all thing the very file I'm trying to restore stops the restore... If anyone has any experience with this please help, I've learned my lesson for my messing with files.

You need to not only make yourself owner, but then also give yourself full permissions. Changing owner to you only lets you add/change ACL entries, it doesn't automatically grant them.

However... What program have you installed? No programs you install should be owned by TrustedInstaller except windows files. They should be owned by whoever installed the program, which in this case would presumably be you.

You can download a registry file to add the correct "take ownership" commands to your right click context menus, if you really need to use them. I'm still curious what program it is though.

Halo 5: Forge, that's why It caught me off guard. I wasn't expecting to deal with TrustedInstaller. And yeah I have myself ownership but when I got to change my permissions the option is grayed out.

Games that you have installed through the Store are owned by TrustedInstaller as part of the sandboxing of UWP applications. You'll have a lot of problems trying to move files into the WindowsApps folder; so I'd recommend you try instead to focus on trying to delete the files you already moved.

Try using the link I posted previously to add the full "take ownership" commands to your context menu, and see if it helps you deleting them. If that doesn't work we can look into alternatives.

I didn't notice any, so don't worry about it. Good luck with that, let us know if it works.

Alright so I made the Take Ownership command but it still says I need Administrator permission. Should I try messing with the Permissions tab some more?

Edit: When I got the the permissions tab in security It says Administrators only can view files, and the other options are grayed out so I can't change them.

Is it saying you need Administrator permission to use the registry file from the link I gave you (at the bottom), or to run it?

It's still asking for admin permission after take ownership was used. I managed to move one of the files back into place but I think I messed the other one up pretty bad.
