Upgrade or new system?

He uses this PC mostly for pc gaming and he only plays competitive games such as CSGO and Overwatch, but sometimes he plays CPU instensive/open world games. Recently he said he wanted to get into video editing and streaming so he needs something better than his actual build:

With that budget you wont really be able to afford a new high end rig,

so it would be better to upgrade.

Get him a i7 for his mobo + a 90mm or 120mm fan tower cooler (might get hot with a stock heatsink),

a gtx 1050-1060 and a 256-512gb ssd for the OS and for video editing.

A 4770/90/K/5775C with a 1050 Ti/RX 570, and a CX450M is my suggestion. And a 250-500 GB SSD, maybe.

:)

Different socket on 6th & 7th gen core series intel cpu vs 4th gen.

6th and 7th gen use lga 1151 socket, 4th gen uses lga 1150 socket. Again, don't get a 6th or 7th gen core series cpu unless you're getting a new motherboard with it.

On another note, get an SSD if you can, get a 1050 ti, and get any of the cpu suggestions from @seon123.

Right now upgrading that GPU is the most important aspect of the build, so do that first.

Edit: on another note, I don't know what that 600w power supply that came with that case is, but usually they are horrible unless the computer was an OEM build that came with a delta PSU or something like that. It would probably be a good idea to swap the power supply with something else just in case the PSU that came with that case is an out of spec bomb.
