So I think I'll take the ultrawide route. Can dual GPUs run a single monitor?

Honestly, get a snigle GPU, and an ultrawide, this is exactly what I'm going to get. I'm getting a 1080 Ti and the Alienware screen.

So I am thinking of getting an Alienware AW3418DW (IPS, 3440×1440, G-SYNC, 120Hz) or an Acer Predator Z35P (VA, 3440×1440, G-SYNC, 120Hz) for my 8700K + GTX 1080 Ti water cooled build. Then, to bring costs down, I decided to go for GTX 1070 SLI (please don't say stuff about SLI; it won't make a difference). If I went for GTX 1070 SLI, I decided to get 2 Alienware AW2518H (1920×1080, TN, 240Hz, G-SYNC) or 2 Acer Predator XB271HU (IPS, 2560×1440, G-SYNC, 144Hz).

What would you say-so dual 16:9 or single 21:9?

Will dual GTX 1070s handle a single ultrawide? If yes, then I'll do that.

I'd personally prefer two 2560x1440 monitors, but it's probably the most expensive route, it's just up to personal preference but if you can afford it, don't go 1080p because it's just a lot worse experience visually.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT 16GB GDDR6 Motherboard: MSI PRESTIGE X570 CREATION
AIO: Corsair H150i Pro RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32GB 3600MHz DDR4 Case: Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic PSU: Corsair RM850x White

I dont see 2 1070s being any cheaper than a 1080ti. In fact it's more expensive since a 1070 cost over $400 each while a 1080ti cost just over $700 so I dont know how you come up with that conclusion. This is without taking power consumption and requirements of a PSU with higher wattage into consideration.

As for the monitors, it depends on what you do. Multi GPU setups can run multiple monitors so dont worry.

I have a 850W PSU, so no problem. But suddenly the price of the 1070 I was viewing rose overnight. Bad luck. I'll go with +Fictionvl suggestions
