Thought I would make a topic on this since the guide doesn't touch on the subject of pascal cards.

Is there anything I should adjust in my settings?  I hear people talk about much higher ppd than I am getting with the same card. I'm unfamiliar with different cores and was uncertain which core I should be using and how to get it.

I do know to leave one core free for the gpu and that did help a good amount.

I can't seam to get a WU right now so I can't give any information about what it's working on. (I had a fan getting noisy so I couldn't fold 24/7 and the gpu must have expired)

Audio go Brrrrrr

The servers are crapped out atm.

My GTX960 that 24/7 folds not getting WUs from the servers.

This what the log files are stating.

Update:  Finally got a WU.  Pause and then unpause the GPU a few times seem to finally get it to grab.  Watch the log file tab.

Yeah, mine all came back. Figured it was just a hiccup.

ok I have a WU now

So back to the main point of this thread, is there any kind of optimization I should be doing? All I have done is set the cpu to 2 cores

Nothing super special with Pascal.  The GPUs act pretty much like Maxwell.  Just keep the cards nice and cool, and they will crunch very well.

Why is it that my PPD is regularly 350-450k? I have seen as high as 500-600k but at best that's half the time.

PPD varies by WU.  To get an actually true average PPD, using something like HFM.net will actually average each WU with that same WU project.  Gives the ability to see the average PPD for a specific WU project.  Plus, over time, bigger and harder WUs come around that can even half PPD on once big GPUs.

I seen this back with the core 15s, 16s, and 17s on the 7970 AMD cards and nVidia Kepler cards.  Can't remember if it was the 16 or 17, but one of those would half the PPD output on certain cards (think it was AMD cards).  Because, I remember some folders going to Linux OSes to avoid those cores (the core was yet put out for Linux distros back then, but later released on Linux).

Currently you will see mostly core 21s, but even those can vary by the different projects that use that core.

This wiki site talks a bit about the cores:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folding@home_cores
