What is a great beginner open back, over the ear pair of headphones for the price

The most I will spend is $125, I don't want to get a DAC. I just want an entry level open back, over the ear pair. Whats a fantastic pair of open back, over the ear headphones for the price?

I have skullcandy crusher headphones. They are really comfterable and they literally shake when listening to bass. But theres a slider for the base amount.

Not sure what your currency works out to be but the sennheiser hd 558 is an excellent start to open headphones.

Edit: The 559s are on sale on amazon atm so theyre well within your budget and are very similar to the 558s.

Sennheiser HD559 or Philips SHP9500 would be good start on your audio journey.

Would I need a DAC, if so what DAC?

The HD559? Regardless, the HD559 and SHP9500 are both efficient enough that even with mobo audio, you should  be able to get loud enough volume. Unless you're someone like a friend of mine who listens at ear bleeding level.

Check Grado headphones, those dont't need an amp, are open back and their entry models are good for the price.
