What standing desk do you recommend?

TechSquidTV

I'm moving soon into my first apartment and will be working remotely. I strongly prefer to stand in most situations and I really want to get a raising and lowering desk.

Currently, I am looking at these dual motor desk legs from Monoprice. A very similar or perhaps the same model exists on Amazon. The concern is the weight limit. It says it can handle 176 pounds. While a wooden countertop from Ikea is about 90 pounds. Add dual monitors and you are getting very close to the weight limit.

I think Paul got the same desk legs

Looks like it is working just fine with dual monitors. Based on that I would say your fine. If you in a office environment you probably don't have very many situations where your adding 50lbs of things. Only things I can think of would be a box of paper, medium size printer or a large desktop. I say keep printers and computers off the desk and your should be fine.

For my work I personally went with these legs

It supports 355lbs, I have a fairly large desk that often has heavy things placed on it so I didn't want to take any chances. I haven't had any problems, I places many heavy items on the desk without any problems.
