Hi all, I’m planning my next build and the part that is hardest to decide on is the case.

At the moment I am looking at the Dark Base 900 (not the Pro version, don’t need a wireless phone charger) and I wanted to ask those who have bought it what are your experiences of building in it and using it.

For info, I don’t want a case with a glass side panel because of where my pc sits (I wouldn’t be able to see inside) and also it makes the pc noisier. Noise is the most important consideration for me.

As for styling, I like the black and silver version of the case as it goes well with my living room. I also like the look of the new Dark Base 700 but from the gamers nexus review it seems to have an airflow problem.

Thanks for any input.

If you go with the pro, you can invert the motherboard and relocate the tempered glass so it faces you! Tempered glass wouldn't make your pc noisier, if anything - it would absorb more noise. Your fans, amount of HDD cages, and how much ventilation affect that! If you want a quiet pc, run all fans at VERY low RPM and have them incrementally ramp up at temperature values of your typical gaming load so your fans are the quietest for whatever scenario.

Go with the new NZXT H700i for the Maarten device, which makes your pc run a lot quieter if you want. Or just put NZXT fans with the Hue+ and the Grid+ smart devices in the Dark Base 900. You're well off.
