SSHD vs HDD

Hello I was considering buying a 2tb sshd (seagate) vs 3tb of hdd. Ive already got ssd storage, I was wondering which one is the better option. The 2tb little bit faster or 3tb ...

The point of a SSHD is to increase transfer speeds of frequently used files (like OS's), but considering you already have SSD's, which you presumably use for the OS, there's literally no point in buying a SSHD

from all the reasons people bring up about why SSHD's are so amazing, their reliability is poor, and i've yet to see their benefits in a real-world scenario.

 

all the computers i've seen with an SSHD reboot equally slow if not slower than their HDD brethern.

The only time SSHDs make sense is in a system where:

 

>Only one drive can be installed

>A large enough SSD is too expensive

>External drives are not an option

>Large amounts of storage are needed inside the machine

 

Unless it meets those requirements, there's basically always a better solution.

if you already have ssd then go hdd there is no benefit I have seen with my Seagate sshd over a hdd just get a 7000 rpm hdd and you should be fine

I use a SSHD for my Steam drive it works great, except some games might take 45min to install but its just one out of a 100 or so! :3
