Just ordered my first AIO

I finally decided to move away from air cooling and purchased the Corsair Hydro Series H80i v2. I currently have an NZXT S340 case. What should I expect out of the cooler? I'm currently moving away from a Hyper 212 evo. Should I expect the same amount of cooling?

You should expect more, but since it's only a 120MM AIO (maybe a 140, I can't remember) it won't be that excellent. A good air cooler could match or outperform it.

It's a 120mm rad and it's depth is 49mm.

I would guestimate a little bit better but not much. 120 mm AIOs aren't really worth it in my opinion, but since you bought it already, you'll find out soon enough :)

Yeah, 120/140mm AIOs kinda suck for how much you have to pay, and having it be thicker doesn't help much.

A 240 or 280 is worth buying over a heatsink.

However, you already bought it, so it will perform and look better than the 212 evo.

Just don't expect any large overclocks.

Signifigantly better actually.  My testing put the h8pi v1 close (5c lower, 61 and 56 respectively under full p95 load) to my nh-d14 with a 6700k at 4.6ghz 1.13v

This is a t h i c c 120mm running push pull, its actually a solid little beast.

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

Nah, it's pretty bad. As I said, thickness doesn't make it amazing.

Image result for h80i vs h100i

Even a 240mm rad is still significantly better, and a 280mm is even better than that.

For reference, an NH-D15 performs similarly to a 280mm rad.

Of course a larger radiator will be better, thats why I have 600mm worth of surface area in my loop.  Doesnt mean its not capable though.  Notice that the cpu used in that test has a 130w tdp and a near 50% oc over stock.  An h80i will cool most modern core i cpus at thier max OC pretty easily

Hah that's funny, not even an H100i can cool an 8700k to it's "max OC".
