Best Monitor for <£600?

Jamdude

So I've just broken my beloved ASUS PB278Q, it was fantastic apart from slight backlight bleed.  I use it 50/50 for gaming and media consumption and am wondering what monitor to go for next or whether to get a TV.

I feel terrible even considering a TV but with the amount of backlight bleed I see on IPS panels these days I wonder whether it's worth the risk.

Any help would be great, thanks!

TVs aren't exempt from backlight bleed. IPS TVs can have backlight bleed in the same way that IPS monitors can.

1440p or higher, don't mind 16:9 or 21:9

You reckon to sacrifice IPS for 165Hz and GSync?   Thoughts on something like the MG279Q?
