SSD Firmware Alert?

I've heard of risks with updating SSD firmware, however I'm not too worried about losing data.  More about loosing my SSD.    However in samsung magician its almost like its forcing me to update the firmware.  It reminds me all the time and seems like its pushing the update.  So should I update the firmware on my Samsung 840 EVO SSD or should I leave it.  I hope you guys can help me decide even though this isn't really a question an advanced user would ask.  And it might seem novice, I've never had an SSD before.  Thanks guys!
