Ive just installed my newest 1080 that i purchased off eBay to replace one i had broke after dropping it and I cant get a display output from it.

I mounted my EKFC 1080 waterblock to it and installed it into a temporary loop but my pc wont boot with the display port cable plugged into the back of it and keeps coming up with error code A2 and b6.

When i plug the display port cable into the back of the other 1080, i get a video feed but when i go into the gpu settings of my bios, neither card is registering/detected.

My motherboard is an x99 e ws updated to the latest BIOS.

Im concerned this card might be dead but if that is the case i cant return it as i purchased it off eBay and the warranty doesnt transfer.

Im at my wits end with pc's if this is the 2nd 1080 to die on my whilst applying a waterblock and will probably end up throwing this pc into the bottom of a river along with myself if i cant get this fucking thing to work.

GPUs are still undetected in BIOS. No idea as to why? Computer is registering both PCIE slots 1 and 3 as unoccuppied. Any help would be appreciated.

Reset bios settings to default?

as much as this hurts:

start from scratch, pull GPUs out, insert cheap GPU for an easy boot.

place stock coolers back on GPUs,

insert (1) one 1080 into the top slot, check if it boots, then insert the same 1080 into the bottom slot to make sure your PCI-e slots are functioning properly.

if the 1080 doesn't display, then try with the other 1080. if neither work use a cheap GPU.

if both 1080s will work in both slots, then re-apply water-block and attempt each GPU one at a time, post results.

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

How about trying only one 1080 or use the stock coolers first instead to eliminate variables?

You could also use a cheaper graphics card like @VioDuskar stated

Make sure to test both 1080s in the top slot to see if one of them is bad

Ok to update both GPUs are registering in Device Manager, however are still both undetected in BIOS. Ive updated both GPU's to the latest driver and both idle around 22 -24'c.

Ive encountered a new problem however where all of my games run aweful. Like, really aweful. Like I load PUBG up and get 14fps at the menu.

I used to get between 50-60fps on Medium at 4k but barely hit 10 fps now ingame.

What the actual fuck.
