You could try a refurbished workstation with 2nd or 3rd gen i5 and buy a low profile GTX 1050 or RX 560, but I would agree that ebay is a good place to look as well. Best of luck in the build.

Everything I know I learned from the internet. Also school.

Current Desktop:

CPU: Ryzen 5 1600 @3.65 ghz, Cryorig H7

MoBo: Asus Prime X470-Pro

GPU: Gigabyte RTX 2060 Super OC

RAM: 2x8 gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 @2666mhz

PSU: 650W EVGA SuperNova

Storage: 120gb SK Hynix SSD, 240gb SanDisk SSD Plus, 1 TB 2015 WD Blue

Case: Corsair Carbide 100R

Peripherals: Logitech G Pro keyboard, Razer DeathAdder Elite, Logitech G305, Logitech G600, 24" AOC FreeSync 1080p monitor x2

You probably want to look for an A8 9600 build, get a B350 motherboard preferably an ASrock Pro 4 minimum, and 8gbs of the fastest cheapest dual channel RAM you can find

Though the AM4 APU build is only worth it if you want an upgrade path on your platform.

You could also get a used Business machine with an i5/i7 and say a cheap used 750ti or modern $100 GPU for about the same price. But if that's not an option get on AM4.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

second hand parts are WAY better at that price. you could probably get something like a gtx 580 and a sandy bridge gen i7.
