10 New Years Resolutions for Case Designers in 2018

minervx
  1. Finger-friendly screws (makes upgrades/repairs less hellish)
  2. Abolish the optical drive (with exception for a small niche)
  3. Make more Mac Pro sized Mini ITX cases
  4. Make Micro ATX builds that actually small
  5. Narrow vertical tower cases which have small footprint but more room.
  6. Modular power supply shrouds (ventilation > looks)
  7. More support for SFX power supplies (i.e. mounting bracket w/ grill)
  8. Include a wireless charging pad in higher-end cases
  9. USB-C ports on the front panel.
  10. Modular build-it-yourself case-building kits.

100% this ^^^

15. No more double coarse fan filter that also suffocate your airflow.

16. Better 3.5" bay options, particularly cases like the S340, Meshify C and P300 leave little to no room to install both 3.5" drives and a long PSU.

17. Just install a very simple fan controller. No need for all these fancy RGB controllers, just make those as separate options.

PWN fan hub should be standard.

Option to buy case without shitty standard fans

More cube cases. The best layout if you really think about it

I like mesh, no plastic front panels

Cheap RGB which is not controlled via motherboard is crap

Fans hubs that have 2 settings via crappy switch are crap

More 3.5 drive options like Fractal and Thermaltake have - drives mounted behind the main comparment

I use 525 drives, keep some
