Hi, guys,

FYI - I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to technical surveillance of my PC.

 giphy-downsized-large.gif

First of all, before I do anything crazy and fu*k the sh*t up with my PC, I need you guys to help me out and solve the problem. I need a benchmark tool which would say something like "your ram sucks" or "your SSD is full of shit you dimwit" - something like that.

I get these constant lags and the task manager shows me that the ram is 97%-98% and the SSD is 98%~ most of the time (and only the chrome is opened with 4 to 5 tabs). What the hell.

userbenchmark.com's benchmark software. Not accurate in results, but does let you compare with other systems using similar parts.

Task manager should be saying what processes are using your RAM and storage. Your high usage is by no means a sign that any of those have "gone bad".

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

I agree with him.

If you need to compare, that is a pretty solid source.

Lol thanks, i decided id try it out for fun, and its stuck, been running for 35min or so and it will not get past this point, any help? I think its trying to find info on my dead 2tb drive, that i have yet bothered to fix or remove...

Remove any broken devices, that should aid the problem.
Never benchmark a system with broken s**t in it!
It causes benchmarks to go nuts or report lower scores then your system can actually achieve!

Just think about it logically for a couple seconds, you'll see what I mean. This is not meant to offend you or anyone else with this question like at all! Just meant to make you and others realize what you where actually trying.

When the PC is acting up haunted,

who ya gonna call?

Well, the problem is that the number of processes doesn't even stack up to make the 97% - 98% barrier. So it actually doesn't make sense at all (the TASK manager).

I see. The problem with Task Manager is that it's not always trustworthy, my advice would be to DL Process Explorer which gives you much better info about what's what, there you will be able to see all usage spikes. I have a feeling your CPU and RAM usages are connected, but also try RAMMap to check RAM.

Will do! Thanks for the advice.

I have made a  test (userbenchmark.com) and these are the results: http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/5907619

My score sucks, wow.

So as the first thing we can see is that the processor is sucking some ugly ass. What could be wrong with it and with which tool can I check him out? (As the previously mentioned tools are not meant for the CPU).

Also, any tips on what should be worth upgrading if I'm an only a casual gamer?

Your CPU is that i5 6600? That's already good CPU. You could get newer model or used i7, but I don't think CPU is really causing issues. As you have prebuild, I'd look if cooling is working. CPU is running UNDER average score for same models. Only reason I can think on the spot is cooling issues. Quite common with prebuilds.

Probably the first logical thing to do would be - to clean all that dust

That is good start. And then look for better cooler if that doesn't help.
