Is it viable to buy a used GPU off craiglist

Done it several times without issue, but I always make certain to have the seller show me it works under load.

I've bought at least 10 used gpu's from craigslist over the years. Just trust your judgment and make sure that the reason they are selling you the gpu sounds legit. If the price is to good to be true it probably is. It's always best if they can show you the card working before the purchase but it's not really always an option. Chances are if they are selling you a gpu it's because they got an upgrade or they are parting out their entire system. Any other reasons for selling a gpu are probably not good ones.

Yes. But make sure you've verified that it works as advertised. There are some people who will sell a dead GPU as a working unfortunately.

bought a gpu from a dude i brought my whole system over to verify it worked guy was nice enough to help me setup and stuff. in short i wasn't kidnapped and murdered craiglist is recommended for hardware buys. text or email often.

Emmm, i think a GPU that has been worked for weeks and months 24/7 under full load can be quite a liability, dont ya think ? Also some vendors void warranty if their GPUs have been used for mining, meaning warranty would mean crap if seller includes it.

What do you mean by liability?! Also, how would the manufacturer know that the GPU was used in mining?! Are you aware of any manufacturer that actually revoked the warranty because a customer told them he was actually mining?
