So these 2 cards are what I'm looking at upgrading to from an RX 470. However, I'm not sure what which would be better, the 1070 TI or 1080. I have a 2160x1080 75hz monitor. The ICX is better cooling than ACX, so would i be able to overclock the 1070TI to match the 1080's performance, and save a couple bucks? i know box stock the 1080 would be better. I would love to get the 1080 superclocked 2 as it has the ICX, but I can't afford it.

soo, what card do i get?

Neither save till you can afford a 1080ti.

Or sell the 470 then buy a 1080ti.

I'd get a 1080ti if I can, however, it's well out of my price range. I'm already reaching from the 1060 budget I have, but that wouldn't be much of an upgrade. I am already planning on selling my rig i have now as I am building a new one. so I'm not doing just a card upgrade, i'm getting everything new.

See, the problem I'm having is that the 1070ti almost being close to a 1080 (not factoring in the silicon lottery) makes it harder when the coolers are factored in. the ICX on the 1070TI should cool better than the ACX so would they pretty much be equal?

i would go with a 1080 the 1070ti is pointless imo

I'm leaning towards the 1080, I'm gonna try to get the ICX cooler on the 1080 if I can sell my PC for the right price. But in the mean time, I'd like to figure out what one would be better between them. I'm not sure how the different coolers

would effect the cards

Newegg is having a black Friday sale (starting the 20th I think) on a Gigabyte and Asus 1080 for both about $500. Id go with that since 1070ti's are trending at about 470-500 as is and will not be on sale. The bonus is both come with Destiny 2 if you were looking to purchase it and the Asus also comes with Assassins Creed Origins.
