Downsizing Main PC Case

Can y'all help me out? I am downsizing my case. I currently have the Thermaltake Level 10 GT but want to get something smaller as I have no need for a Full Tower. I am trying to decide between the Silverstone GD09B and the Riotoro CR1080. Either way the case will go on the printer tree I have. I love the thought of having a window to display my components but I love the compactness of the silverstone. What are you thoughts?

 

I have two 2.5" drives, an atx mobo, i5 4690k @4.5, reference 980, RM650x psu, kingston hyperx four dimm kit, and a hotswap 3.5" taking the 5.25. Either way, I am replacing my current CPU cooler.

Instructions for frustration management:  

1) Sit at desk.   2) Repeatedly slam forehead against desk.

The Riotoro would look better on a desk (and also take up less desk space) but the Silverstone would look better in a living room or home theater. You'll probably also have a harder time cable managing in the silverstone but since no one will see it, out of sight out of mind!

If you want to properly downsize, I'd get an mATX motherboard or smaller and a more compact case.

That said, you didn't give us your budget.

I am planning on putting either case on the printer tree. In the spring or fall of 2018 I am ditching the two printers and getting a new one.

I am staying away from getting a "new" motherboard and dealing with the os. The two cases I mentioned in the original post are the two that I am trying to decide upon.

 

It comes down to the looks or the stackability/mobility. Hmmm this sucks.

I am going to get the Silverstone GD09B, here are the reasons;

1. I can put it on my printer tree and under one of my printers for the time being, thus saving floor space.

2. I will fit everything I need. With an adapter I can fit my two 2.5" solid state drives and my back-up hdd, along with my... wait for it... optical disk drive, along with just about any GPU.

3. It will be travel friendly for when I want to show off the power of a pc to my console peasant friend(s).

4. I can put it easily in a small server rack. I do plan on doing this as I will put my nas, and a surveillance server (future build) in a server rack when I get the funds/ know I won't be renting.

 

The Riotoro was nice because of the window, the ability to easily fit more drives, as well as the portability (though I would have worried a little about the window),  but it would not have left a lot of space for the laptop dock I have and the nas (in it's current case).
