Triple 1440p gaming rig

why you say it's unnececary and why sli?

Unless if your trying to do LOTS of productivity(4k,8k video editing etc) then going with lower teir processsor could save you money, regarding the gpu’s, a single 1080ti can run 4k AAA games exeptionally (75hz+) so for 3 1440p 144hz monitors, id say 2 1080ti’s are enough.

You might want to check the MOBO is compatible with  M.2 solid state drives, but that is my recommendation.

wow..thanks a lot man!! I appriciate!. one last thing... why titan xp over gtx 1080 ti? and why you think i9-7980 is such a bad idea?

Thing is this is a give or take, there will be games that will get zero 0 benefit from the second card in sli making the Xp faster in there, and even when SLI works the Xp won't be too far behind.

SLI can a few times give you really hard headaches too, it is not as smooth as a single GPU solution and you're clearly focused on getting the best.

Because the i7 8700k is significantly faster gaming.

Yes it will, it's actually super decent at it the same level as the Ryzen 7 1800x.

People that work at nasa doing calculations on how to land a spaceship without blowing it up at space.

you're not at all, one thing I can tell you for sure though, willing to spend so much money as is you should do the most research on this as possible

1080 ti in SLI, translates to a very small performance increase in gaming in some games, and some games actually see worse performance than they would with just one.

Unless you're doing a ton of virtualization, the i9 is probably over kill. An 8700k, or a ryzen 7 chip would probably meet your production needs while giving you better gaming performance too.

Guys, just let him spend his money. Of course it's super overkill and irrational. But so is a $4000 bicycle or whatever expensive crap people buy when they're enthusiasts. The 7980XE doesn't even give the most raw performance for OP's main use case, but that's not really the point, and it's close enough.

What do you mean it doesn't give that raw performance? You mean on single threaded stuff?

A single card will not handle gaming on 3 monitors unless you want low settings and low fps. Single cards are still too weak. So be smart and sli or suffer.
