Need Help Picking Parts

CJProcks123

I have been trying to compile a list of parts that are good for moderate gaming. I do not need hard drives or a power supply or peripherals or a case, I already have them from an old computer(700watts). I have already attempted to make a list but I do not know if it is any good.

Moderate Gaming Rig

This is the current computer. It has an i5 760 and an Asus GeForce 8400 gs. Current Case is an Antec 350.IMG_0273.thumb.JPG.d40da86c7a28fc5d9fe73bfd2336d9fd.JPG

I have had a quick look, I'd recommend a better motherboard for the future, overclocks and all that. Higher clocked memory would benefit your CPU. I would recommend Noctua - NH-D15 CPU Cooler, it does great at cooling. I have compiled a parts list for you. If you aren't going to be overclocking then I'd still recommend higher clocked memory if your motherboard supports it.

Don't get the 1600X. Get the 1600 and overclock it.

The cooler looks similar to the 212 Evo. The H5, Dark Rock 3 and NH-U12S cost about the same.

The Asus Prime Plus costs about the same as the motherboard you've selected, and is better.

Get faster RAM. 1x 8GB 3000 MHz now, and upgrade later, or a 2x 8GB kit for $160.

:)
