So I'm going to be taking apart my laptop to clean it from dust. This is my first time cleaning this laptop so I don't know if I can get away with it or not but can I get away with cleaning it without having to take off the heatsink or exchanger and if I do. If I end up having to remove it do I have to replace the compound or can I just leave what's on there? I just want to clean out the intakes and exhaust fan assembly.

you can leave it but i would change it since the compound that comes on laptops is horrible i use phobia nanogrease extreme but you can go with mx4 or icdiamond

Well I was just wondering if I can leave it. I'm taking it apart cause I notice if I put my hand on the plastic on the bottem where the exhaust is the plastic is warm and my laptop shuts off randomly I used a temp monitoring software and I'm sitting at 60 idle and 65 jumping to as high as 75 depending on what I'm doing under load

With Phobya NanoGrease do you have to wait a set amount of time before turning your laptop or pc back on or can you just apply seal up the laptop and turn it on

yeah just set it and turn your laptop on the delay is after you install in 24 hrs it becomes more effective you dont need to wait for anything just be careful when your open your laptop and use a plastic knife to take off the warrant sticker and put it back after installation so you dont ruin your warranty in case your laptop manufacturer dont allow you to open your laptop

Replace the paste whether it's still good or not. You might get air bubbles when putting the cold plate back on.
