Their main focus is and always will be multiplayer. If you're buying it for an immersive single player story, you might be better off with an older Battlefield it Medal of Honor, or CoD Blackops and earlier.

Ok, thanks. If I did get it, I would not play multiplayer much.

Then your probably spending a bunch of money for very little.

Here is a rule I live by: Don't purchase a multiplayer game for the single player content. It never works out well.

Learned this when years ago. CoD died for my at Blackops 2.

For a WW2 game, which would you recommend?

I'll be honest, stay away from CoD and do not touch it with a 10 foot long pole.

BattleField 1 (Althrough more WW1, then WW2) is quite a good WW shooter.
CoD titles just never last and come with DLC up the butt, while also ruining the gaming industry by setting standards lower every single year.

Good WW2 titles are hard to find.

Most are either trying to be CoD and/or in early access (hell)

Or just horrible in their own right.

Again I'd give BF1 a shot, I quite enjoy it.

When the PC is acting up haunted,

who ya gonna call?
"Monotone voice" : A local computer store.

Any other suggestions (WW1 is fine), I already have BF1 (said in the original post).

If you are not into multiplayer, just do not get CoD.
They release a new one every single year to get a new way to move people to a "new" game since to old ones servers are now ghost towns.
Only old CoD's still alive are, BO1 on the PS3, and BO2 on the PS3.
PC CoD is always dead when a new ones comes out, partially thanks to the huge amount of cheaters that flood the games then.

EDIT:

Other then BF1, honestly I do not think you have a lot of options.
Used to look myself for that type of game all the time, never found it.

Not a first person shooter, but Foxhole is fun.

Thanks for that info!

I'll grab it when I get home and give it a shot, seems like a good game actually :)

New game wise, there isn't much. Plenty of classics though, such as CoD1 and 2, Return to castle Wolfenstein, Medal of Honor Allied Assault etc.

PC Specs - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D MSI B550M Mortar - 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4-3600 @ CL16 - ASRock RX7800XT 660p 1TBGB & Crucial P5 1TB Fractal Define Mini C CM V750v2 - Windows 11 Pro

Black Ops had a decent story I could get myself into.
So did Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2.
Never played the real OG's, but I presume if the later ones are anything to go by they should be good.
Getting them on a XBOX/Playstation is most likely the cheaper option, as on Steam they go for quite a pretty penny. (Even G2A still charges € 14 for Black Ops)

But if you do not own 7th gen consoles, PC versions are just more expensive.
