Is buying a last year flagship a good decision?

My Lenovo P2 broke and I'm getting my money back from it, so I'm in the market for a new phone again. I looked at similar priced phones and found the Galaxy A5 2017, which is a mid-ranger. Upon further researching I stumbled upon the HTC 10 for 50€ more. I know it's an older device, but is it still worth getting compared to this year's mid-rangers? If anyone has the HTC 10, I'm interested in how it's holding up.

Anything newer than a Snapdragon 801 is pretty solid, don't worry.

I always recommend buying last-gen high-end devices. You can easily check what issues are common and they often get more support because of their MSRP.

 

I'm currently thinking about buying an S7, because it seems to be the best phone from that generation.

 

Anything newer than a Snapdragon 801 is pretty solid, don't worry.

I wouldn't recommend most phones with the 810 TBH.

801 =/= 810

 

810 throttles, 801 is cool 28nm chip that just draws a little power :)

The HTC 10 has the SD820, which I've heard is pretty good. Ordered it already, hopefully it won't be a dud like the Lenovo.

The 820 is pretty solid, although it does get warm under heavy loads.

I have got the Axon 7 with the 820 and its really a great phone especially if you considder that its about 300 bucks now
