For IPS 100+ Hz displays you won't find anything in that price range, they are only available at 2560×1440+.

I've decided to get this monitor http://www.microcenter.com/product/472721/C24FG70_235_VA_Curved_Gaming_LED_Monitor

I am looking into a monitor that is in the 200-300 dollar range. Preferably freesync, but it's fine if it's not.

For gaming or what?

The ViewSonic XG2401 is the usual recommendation there.

My dad recently got a Dell SE2717HR and seems pretty happy with it

This is what I currently have https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TQQN4WU/?tag=pcpapi-20

I am looking for something with a higher refresh rate 100+. I also forgot to mention that I want it to be ips if possible.
