hey guys,

so i was wondering about drivers. in every motherboard unboxing linus always tells you to throw away the drivers disk and get the latest from there website. btw i got a ASUS Z87 Pro, but on there website there isn't a button to download all the latest drivers, so surely the best idea would be to install the drivers using the disk (because they are all in one place) and go in to device manager and do it that way. but i know there are better ways of doing it. so can you help!

Something Awesome!

You need to fo the support page for the motherboard. Here you chose your OS and download all the drivers that you need. The latest drivers are the one at the top of each category.

Why not download the drivers before hand and back them up on a USB.

I have everything I need to get my Windows 7 installation up and running including GPU, audio, windows 7 installation and everything else I need like programs (vlc, avast etc) all on one USB stick.

Dont really need to go to device manager for drivers anymore. Most are executables and do all the magic for you :D

I would first usually install the network drivers to get network connectivity in order to download the latest drivers. AI Suite 3 is optional.

Get these drivers:

Management Engine Interface

Realtek Audio Driver

Intel Graphics Accelerator Driver (if you are using integrated graphics)

Intel LAN Driver (if you use wired internet)

ASMedia_U3_FW_update

Wifi and Bluetooth drivers in Wireless and Bluetooth if you use them

Of course there isnt just going to be a button to download the latest drivers. You have a bunch of different parts on a motherboard and that would get all messy if they were all just on big bundle. Also try getting intel ones from intel realtek from realtek etc as you get much newer more up to date drivers than even on the motherboard page.
