max ghz for i7-4790K

I'm looking to buy an i7-4770K and I was wondering what the max GHz I could pull on the chip I have an aftermarket corsair air cooler and an OC board just not the CPU that can OC

why not get a 4790k?

The max speed you can achieve depends on the VRMs on your board, the abilities of your cooler and, most importantly, the silicon lottery. Your chip may need 1.4V to hit 4.8 GHz, it may need 1.35. You'll have to find out.

we dont know, it all depends on the chip one person can OC to 5ghz and one person might not be able to push past 4.6ghz.

i have a 1050ti {i do plan on getting a new card one day i just need a new cpu first i feel

So i found one on ebay after looking around for a bit for right under 200 US should i take the bid?

only upgrade if your current rig doesn't do what you want it to do, there is no reason to upgrade just for the hell of it, unless its a present and then it makes sense as it being a time restraint thing.
