I see no reason why not, also I'd drop the 270X and go for a 270, from what I've heard is that they are a waste of money and barely noticeable over the non X versions (unless that is just the 280X and 290X)

Apparently the 270x is just an overclocked version of the 270? would it be worth spending £20 less and just overclocking it?

I would say yes ubnless you aren't confident at OC'ing the GPU then maybe worth an extra £20 in your case to get one ready OC'ed but it's your choice.

don't get oem windows if you upgrade in the future.
