Where is the resolution in a projector?

Yoo Song Won
Go to solution Solved by Rolling Potatoe,

How the colours/pixels are generated depends on the projector type, but except for laser projectors they all use

bright white light from a lamp that is then filtered to get red green and blue subpixels on the screen. So yeah, youll only renew the brightness.

I don't know how to explain it but, when buying a replacement lamp for a projector, does it only renew the lamp (e.g: The Brightness) or does it hold where the resolution is held as well? I don't know whether it's a chip or whatever but I guess you know what I mean...
