For @Metapod14 Going to build it himself now, instead of going from origin or Cyberpower

Anything major missing?

G-sync displays are $599 for the same type of display, 4k was like $799 last I checked, so Vega could be an option, though it's of course slower

Display options are 2 1440p 144hz IPS displays, or 1 of those and a 4k 60hz IPS display, I think having one 4k would be useful since a secondary 144hz display is kind of a waste, plus it gives you a different option for gaming, either high refresh or super high detail.

Budget isn't too much of an issue

Think I just need to add some case fans

anyone have a full X399 build video with detail?

Not sure about that WD Black. Correct me if I'm wrong, but couldn't he just get a 1/2/4TB WD Blue and an ssd (850, 960, something along those lines) and call it quits? iirc WD blacks aren't an amazing improvement over the Blue. Then again, I might just be mixed up with something else.

He wanted a 1950X and doesn't have any real issue with the budget. Hell I want a 1950X and don't really need it.

Ok, thanks for clarifying :). I was just a bit confused about the choice of ssd, considering that the WD isn't the fastest on the market, and that m.2 doesn't really offer any benefits over a sata ssd when used to boot and play games. It just struck me as odd, since getting a cheaper HDD would free up enough budget to swap the ssd for an 850 of the same capacity, or something similar.

Doesn't it boost to 4.2ghz normally? For streaming it lets you give 8 cores/16 threads to the game and 8c/16th to OBS, basically some of the best quality and most flexible streaming you can get in a single system.

M.2 is just easier/cleaner you pop it in the slot and you're done, no cables to deal with, was the cheapest M.2 drive 500GB next to a crucial MX300, speed difference doesn't matter for sata SSDs from the major brands anyways I don't think, going to NVME likely isn't worth it either. at that point it's fast enough.

Oh yeah, I bet those 3 viewers on the stream will be super concerned about the slight pixels of difference between CPU encoding and NVENC or quicksync.

That's the fun of buying a thousand dollar CPU. He could also spend like $1500 and get a pretty good set up on the PC side of things with like a 1700X and Vega 56

Dunno if he does anything else that may warrant a 1950X, but dropping to the 1920X at that point doesn't make much sense.

A $1000 CPU which is going to be outdated in a couple years or even months when cheaper and better performing options are available.

Instead of spending all the money at once, it makes far more sense to spend half now and half a few years later.

Computer hardware progresses extremely quickly.
