Where should I go next?

beach_boy98

(Sorry for my lack of knowlege. I've been out of this game for a while.)

Currently I've got:

i5 - 2400

Horrible Asus mATX board

6GB DDR3

rx 460

120gb SSD

Bunch of HDDs

Budget: 300 GBP

I'm looking for an upgrade currently. I plan on doing some highish end games at high details like GTA5 but I feel that my GPU is too weak currently.  My cpu and Motherboard are also getting quite old and in need of new features like USB 3 and Sata 3. I feel a bit lost in all this new hardware that has come out in the last little bit. Any help would be nice.

Upgrade to a gtx 1060 for now, and save up again until you can afford a new cpu/mobo/ram

For now, upgrade for a GTX 1060, which will be around £200 for the 3GB version and around £250 for the 6GB version, then, if you have the budget, you could upgrade your CPU and Motherboard to a Haswell Core i5 as you could keep your current RAM. Another option would be to search for deals in local facebook classified groups. I was able to get a GTX 1060 3GB from MSI for £100 (4 months old) and a 8GB DDR3 kit for about £12.5 (£5 for one of them and about £7.5 for the other one which was part of a £15 2-item deal), and much more. I've seen parts going for ridiculously low prices. Try your luck.
